Larry Hennessee Obituary

Larry Hennessee, passed away, March 12, in a hospital in Atlanta.  He suffered a stroke in January 2023 and struggled for the past year to recover, but in the end, his body was worn out from the fight. 

He was a native of Chattanooga, graduate of Central High School and Navy Veteran having served for four years between 1983 and 1987.  He worked at various companies within the Chattanooga area, Brock Candy Company, Roper Manufacturing, Blue Bird Bus line, and Chattanooga Nuts and Bolts.  Most recently he worked in Rockmart, Georgia. 

He was stubborn, thoughtful, caring, opinionated, never asked for help, survived with what he had but was always willing to help others as he could.  He was an avid reader, liked to cook and grill and was a devoted Tennessee football fan through good years and bad.  He was a Dr. Pepper Fanatic. He will be missed.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Doris Hennessee of Harrison TN, his brother, Michael Hennessee of Atlanta, Georgia and brother-in-law, Van Wallin of Chickamauga, Georgia. 

He is survived by his three children, Branden Hennessee of Chickamauga, Georgia, son-in-law Trevor Johns and daughter, Hillary Johns of Chattanooga, Chandler Hennessee of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Miller and Tucker Hennessee of Chickamauga; ex-wife, Kim Gray of Flintstone, Georgia; mother-in-law, Sue Wallin of Flintstone, Georgia; father-in-law Kenneth Wallin of Chickamauga, Georgia; brother, Barry Hennessee and sister, Teresa Hennessee of Dunwoody, Georgia; sister-in-law, Tracy Hennessee of Rockmart, Georgia; nephews Mitchell Hennessee and wife, Olivia Hennessee of Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Robert Hennessee Jr of San Antonio, Texas, and niece, Morgan Shore and husband, Brandon Shore with son Emerson Shore of Springfield, Virginia, two remaining uncles, three aunts and numerous cousins. 

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at Harrison Bay State Park on Saturday, April 13th from 12 to 2 pm eastern time.
