Clifton O'Neil Obituary

Clifton F. (Cliff) O’Neil, 93 died September 8, 2018.

 

He was a B-29 navigator in WWII, F-84 jet fighter pilot in Korea, first flew supersonically in 1954, FAA instrument flight instructor to many, and instructed other pilots in aerobatic flight.

 

Cliff was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Idell.

 

He is survived by: sons Greg (‘Gina) O’Neil of Chattanooga, Mike O’Neil of Marietta, GA; daughter Susan O’Neil (Carol Goss) of Riverview, FL; grandchildren Ryan (Kathryn) O’Neil of Hixson, Jennifer (Simon) O’Neil Hoddinott of England; great-granddaughters Hannah Hoddinott and Ellie Hoddinott of England, Riley O’Neil of Hixson.

 

Cliff founded Kick-Shaw, Inc. (Fiberglass Church Products) Co.) in 1956 and worked there until 2016.

 

He was a lifelong member of Central Church of Christ in Chattanooga.

 

According to Cliff’s wishes, no memorial service will be held and burial will be private.
