Reinold Arthur Pedde, 94, of East Ridge, TN, formerly of Crossville, TN was ushered into the presence of the Lord on November 18, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Nancy (Hollingsworth). His eldest daughter, Nora Pedde, has lovingly and faithfully cared for her parents for many years. He is also survived by Daniel and Kathryn Pedde of Athens, TN, Gloria and Tipton Haynes of East Ridge, TN, Carey and Annette Pedde of Crossville, TN, Wendy and Terry Broyles of Brazil and Ward Pedde of Rochester, NY. He was preceded in death by his son Ralph and daughter-in-law Donna Pedde and his great-grandson Benson Bencosme. Reinold had 27 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Reinold served in the U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the European theater. His service included the Battle at Normandy Beach and the Battle of the Bulge.
After WWII, he graduated from Detroit Bible College and then went into the service of his Lord. Reinold was instrumental in establishing and pastoring several churches including three in the Detroit area, the Alger Heights Baptist Church in Wetmore, MI and served as a missionary in Okinawa, Japan. He served as pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Crossville, TN until his retirement in 1992. He was also a long-time member of the Christian Fellowship Church of Grandview, TN. He was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church on North Terrace in Chattanooga.
Visitation will be held Sunday Nov. 24th from 6-8 and Monday Nov 25th from 11-1 at Calvary Independent Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following. Reinold will be buried at 2:30 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
