Thomas J. Weber passed away on April 6th, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga at the age of 69.

 

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” A. Weber of 48 years, 4 sons, John, Keith (Heather), Brian (Angela) and Joshua (Stephanie), sister Noreen (John) Cromly, as well as 9 grandchildren, one great grand child, and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Born on July 10th, 1947 in Toledo, Ohio, he attended grade school at St. Pius X and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965. He received an Associates degree from the University of Toledo in 1968. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for 47 years and the Knights of Columbus for 30 years.

 

During his professional career he worked for Detroit Edison, Toledo Edison, Bechtel Corporation, Department of Defense and the University of Michigan. He was one of the foremost leaders in the transition of 2-D drafting to the current 3-D modeling graphics.

 

He thoroughly enjoyed family vacations, and traveled on long road trips to almost every state in the country with his wife and 4 sons. He also loved spending time with his dogs and goats at his home in Ooltewah, Tennessee. He was a passionate sports fan, and was an enthusiastic participant in the family’s Ohio State-Michigan rivalry.

 

The funeral and mass will be presided over by Rev. Manuel Pérez on Tuesday, April 11th at 11:00 at St. Stephen Catholic Church at 7111 Lee Hwy in Chatanooga. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be considered in Thomas Weber’s honor to the McKamey Animal Center in Chattanooga (423-305-6507 or www.mckameyanimalcenter.org).
