Toy McDonald Heape

Toy McDonald Heape passed away Nov. 4, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born on January 1, 1933 in Eastover, South Carolina. He graduated from Lower Richland High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. After retiring as a purchasing manager at Seaboard Farms in Chattanooga, he started his own business, Econo Heat and Air. He was a parishioner of Saint Jude Catholic Church.  He was a member of Toastmasters International and an avid sports fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, F. E. and Tiny C. Heape; brother, F.C. Heape; and sisters, Jean Gialenios and Ophelia Funderburk.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia; children, Toye (Allison), Tammy, Tom (Lynn), Tim Heape, Tina Denley (Bruce); grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, and Steven Heape, Slade Corvin, Tara, Nicole, Brandon Denley; step-grandchildren, Keoma Shaw, Nioka Jones, Eli, and David Lundy; step-great-grandchildren, Drake and Tayonah Jones; brother, Jack (Azalea) Heape; sister, Faye Heape; brother-in-law, Johnson Funderburk; a host of nieces and nephews and family friends, Paula Epperson, Jessie Parmenter and former daughter-in-law, Melissa Heape.

A private Memorial Mass officiated by Reverend Charles Burton was celebrated on Nov. 8, 2018. Toy will be lovingly and forever remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and all his family.

The family wishes to thank Toy's caregivers at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, especially the nurses in the MICU and Jaime Flynn. The family would also like to thank Reverend Burton and the staff at Saint Jude's Catholic Church for their wonderful compassion and care shown.
