Obituary

Alvada Ruth Hunt Gardenhire graduated from this life on December 11, 2016. She was born and raised in Red Bank, Tennessee, and attended Red Bank High School. Alvada was a classical pianist, studying piano and music at the Cadek Conservatory at the University of Chattanooga, performing as the pianist for the Casale String Ensemble and with the Chattanooga Symphony (1953). After marrying, Alvada traveled the world as an army spouse, studying world religions, and raising four children. Alvada is the daughter of Joseph Hunt and Exa Bright.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert Gann & grandson, Cameron Addleman; sister, Carol Jo Hunt.

Survivors include her children, Ruth (Tim) Markey, Michael (Janet) Gann, and Shari Addleman; extended family includes, Kathleen (Andy) Belcher; grandchildren, Marlene (Anderson) McRae, and Timothy Markey Jr; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ethan McRae.

Alvadas family will be holding a memorial celebration of life on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10:00 am-12:00 in the parish hall of St. Thaddaeus Episcopal Church on 4300 Locksley Lane. Please stop by during that time to pay your respects, enjoy food, and share good memories.
