Barbara Ann Hamsley, 83, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 11, 2024. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was an avid movie watcher. She gave away many handmade crocheted afghans, scarves & hats made herself. She loved to read and was known to read more than one at a time. She loved her dog, Sophie. Sophie just showed up and Barbara made her a part of the family and the two were always together.

She was predeceased by her parents, James & Virginia Tolbert; brothers, Len & Jimmy Tolbert; daughters, Tammy Young & Karen Benson.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Hamsley; daughter, Jan (Les) Spencer; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Jason Smith, Jonathon Smith, Travis Benson, Shelby Benson, Sydney Spencer and Grace Spencer; many great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 N Moore Rd, Chattanooga, TN. The Reverend Cliff Hudson & the Reverend Dr. Courtney Krueger will conduct the funeral at 1 p.m. in the church.

Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
