Bobbye Joyce Hutchens, 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 17 at home surrounded by her family. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister. She was born in Bristol, TN to parents, Marion Estes & Eula May Hill, along with two sisters.

She attended the Roanoke School of Nursing, where she met and married George T. Long. She continued her nursing education & served as one of the first few instrumental people to create and solidify Chattanooga's Home Health Care Program. She went onto become head orthopedic nurse at Parkridge and Memorial hospitals. She later met and married Mr. Charles Ellis Hutchens.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Alyson Steele-Potter; grandsons, Justin Colby Steele & Jeremiah Chase Potter; two nieces & a nephew.

The family will hold a private memorial service.
