Clarence Slaytha Bailey Jr., 92, of Hixson passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2014. Clarence was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He served in the European Theatre, mostly based out of England. Clarence lived the majority of his life in the southern New Jersey area of Penns Grove, with a few years spent in Delaware and Florida. His entire working career was spent with the DuPont Company in Carney's Point, NJ until his retirement in 1980. His last residence was in Tennessee where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law.
Clarence was predeceased by his wife, Nancy; step-daughter, Mary Buehler; step-son, Alfred Spinelli and step-son, William Spinelli.
He is survived by his son, Clarence S. Bailey, III (wife Karan); step-daughter, Yolanda Overstreet (husband Carroll); step-daughter, Nancy Carpenter (husband Ed); step-son, Edward Spinelli; brothers Frank Bailey, Pierson Bailey (wife Blanche) and Rev. David Bailey Sr. (wife Eileen).
Services will be held at a future date at his military plot in south New Jersey. He will be laid to rest there beside his wife Nancy.
