David Ansel Gunneson, age 82, went to heaven on November 5, 2024. He was born on March 16, 1942, in Kent City, Michigan. Dave was the fifth child of Herman and Susie Gunneson and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, where he also sang in the choir. He attended Bob Jones University, but he was a life-long learner with many interests. He married Mary Anne (née Perry) and they soon made their home in Chattanooga. Dave was a faithful member of Gospel Lighthouse Baptist Church. He studied God's Word and loved the old hymns. He was a man of conviction who was willing to stand alone, but friends describe him as a gentle soul. He was also an avid reader, outdoorsman and gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Anne; children, Anna (Terry) Wall and David (Jacky) Gunneson; grandchildren Joshua, Susan, Gacomo, Sara, William, and Andrew; and numerous extended family members. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1pm-2pm at Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 4601 N. Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37411. Rev.
