David Franklin Walker, 79, of Ooltewah, died Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his residence.
He served four years in the U.S. Navy, including three tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Fulton High School in Knoxville, and received his B.S. in business from ETSU. After graduating, he worked twenty-five years as a maintenance supervisor at Duracell in Cleveland, TN.
A native of Knoxville, and a longtime resident of Ooltewah, he was the son of the late Chester and Jewell Colloms Walker. He was preceded in death by his son, David Walker Jr.; two brothers, Vernon and Michael Walker; and sister Carol Hodsden.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Easterling Walker; one son and daughter-in-law Mark and Elvira Walker of Ooltewah; three grandchildren Mikayla, Katie, and Iydy Walker. He had several nieces and nephews.
The Reverend Dwight Henderson will conduct a graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
