Doris Davis Pearson, 78, of Signal Mountain passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 1, 2016.

Doris was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 23, 1936. She graduated from Bessemer High School going on to Auburn University where she majored in Accounting. Doris and Jerry met when their families moved in across the street from each other. They married within the year and have been together for 57 years. Doris retired from Girls Preparatory School where she was the Business Office Manager for over 20 years. She loved her position there and the life-long friendships she made. Doris enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, church , dinner and lunch dates with friends. Relationships were the most important part of her life. She adored her grandchildren and made a lasting impact on each of their lives. Doris was a loving wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Margaret and John Davis and her brother John Davis, Jr.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Pearson, daughters Cindy (Curt) Grantham, Sheri (Robert) Mastin, grandchildren John and Carter Grantham and Davis and Molly Mastin. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Kay (Comer) Justice, Becky Harmon, and her brother Steve (Susan) Davis and sister-in-law Yondle Davis. Also her sisters-in-law Evelyn (Jeff) Vines, Sue (Morris) Jackson, Kay (Bob) Lindsey, and brother-in-law John (Linda) Pearson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Scott Bowen will conduct a memorial service in Marr Chapel, Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be after the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Chambliss Center for Children, 315 Gillespie Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411.
