Douglas Everett Daugherty Jr. 36, passed away Saturday the 22nd of January, 2022. He was born on March 15th, 1985 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Doug spent his early years on Signal Mountain exploring the trails with his brother John and dog Hunter. An accomplished Mountaineer, Doug knew the trails of Southeast Tennessee by heart. His love of climbing lasted his entire life from climbing sunset rock in elementary school to his days ascending lower Leda in his thirties.
Anyone who met Doug will remember his passion for music. From learning how to play drums and guitar as a boy to traveling around the country attending concerts and festivals, Dougs love of music was apparent to all who knew him.
Doug was a gifted carpenter and craftsman and blessed many people through his life with these skills. Doug will be remembered especially for his sense of humor and fiery spirit that served to lift the spirits of all who knew him. He was well known for his compassionate nature. On any given day, Doug would be ready to help pull out a stuck vehicle, fix a broken appliance, or help a friend in need.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family. Parents Doug and Sally Daugherty, brothers John, Ben, and Christian Daugherty, sisters Thankful Davis and Ginnie Jones and son Miles Everett.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga, Tennessee February 1st at 4 pm.
