Dr. Charles Werner, 92, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 14. He was known as a Godly man. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He grew up in North Chattanooga and served in the United States Army Aircorp. He earned a Bachelor of Science and his Master of Arts Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He earned his Doctoral Degree from Georgia State University. He taught in the Hamilton County School System at Avondale, Elbert Long as well as DeKalb Community College in Atlanta, GA.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles & Clara Werner; brother, George Werner and his wife of 65 years, Lou Emma Crox Werner.

He is survived by his daughters, Marcetta (Nelson) Wong of Ooltewah, TN; Keena (Brian) Masters of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) Wong; Travis (Kayla) Wong and Rachel (Phillip) Flores; great-grandchildren, Ansley Wong, Reagan Flores and Madison Flores.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 18 from 1-2pm. in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Curt McKee will conduct the service at 2pm in the church.

Interment will follow the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
