Edgar E. "Mike" Pentoney went home to be with Jesus March 29, 2017.

He was born July 4, 1927 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy June 1945 and was discharged August 1946 at the end of the war.

In 1990 he retired from General Motors in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He moved to Ooltewah, Tennessee in 2000.

He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his father, Edgar E. Pentoney; mother, Ada Michael Pentoney; sister, Phyllis Pentoney Redick; a niece and sons, Michael Page and Shawn Eric Pentoney.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy Bosserman Pentoney; daughter-in-law, Jodi Pentoney Phillips and spouse, Jim Phillips; grandchildren, Zachary Luke, Sheree Beth and Tara Lane Pentoney.

Burial will be Monday, April 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Silverdale Baptist Church.

Pastor Tony Walliser will officiate the Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Silverdale Baptist Academy, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421, for SBA Tuition Assistance or the building fund for the new Arts and Science Building.
