Edna Marie (Ogden) Oris, 95 years of age, of Hixson, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.Edna was born on September 25, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Walter Ogden and Edna (Kraft) Ogden.

Edna graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1948. She married George Albert Kephart in April 1949 and lived in Philadelphia before moving to Levittown in the mid 50's, where they raised their 10 children. In June of 1975, Edna married Alex Oris. They were married 47 years when Alex passed in October 2022.

In her (little) free time, Edna enjoyed playing the piano, reading novels and daily Bible reading, working on crossword puzzles and traveling. Edna and Alex travelled to 10 European countries, many U.S. states and several Caribbean Islands.Edna and Alex loved attending Lifegate Baptist church in Hixson, Tn. They made Lifegate their home church for 26 years. Edna will forever be remembered as an independent, strong, feisty and stubborn woman.

Edna was predeceased by both of her parents, her brother Walter Ogden, husband Alex Oris, and two children, Glenn Kephart and Holly Stein. She is survived by her children, Karen Heller(Peter), Karol Paroly(Mitch), Gary Kephart, Cheryl Lewis(Douglas), Anita Kephart, Sandy Dixon (Doug), Brian Kephart (Jen), and Scott Kephart (Thutrang). Edna and Alex had 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1great-great grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Life Gate Baptist Church, 1813 Thrasher Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37323.
