After several days of deepening sleep, my father Edward Higgins passed away today, Friday June 28, at 10 am. He is finally at rest after a long, productive, and impactful life of service. He enjoyed his years of teaching in Wisconsin, Palau Islands, and Indonesia, where many students were inspired and equipped to work for Christ all over the world. He also enjoyed his wife Janice, 4 children Doug, Janette, Bruce, and Linda, 9 grandchildren, and 22+ great grandchildren. He and Janice lived in the Berrien Springs area, enjoying the University community and various business ventures. He and our mother moved to Collegedale Tn where they have resided the last few years. Janice preceded him in death last year. While our hearts are heavy at our loss, we are filled with hope at the thought of a great reunion around the throne of Christ. There will be a memorial service for both of them at the Collegedale Community SDA Church Saturday July 13 at 6:30 pm. There will be a livestream of the service.
