Obituary

Frederick A. Morman Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Mr. Morman graduated from Bismark State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1963, he went on to have a long and industrious career in Research & Development at different paint manufacturers, retiring from Dow Chemical when he was 62. Freds career took him from his home in Mandan, N.D. to Louisville, Ky., where he found the love of his life, Gene E. Miller. He proposed after a brief courtship and they were blissfully married for over 50 years. Fred had many hobbies throughout his life; hunting, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving were just a few, he appreciated spending time outdoors. He was an assistant Boy Scout troop leader when his son, Fred, was a troop member. He spent time camping and traveling with his wife: 2 of his favorite trips were to Aruba and Mexico. He enjoyed tropical fish and had multiple aquariums in his home that he maintained. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gene E. Morman; parents, Fred and Martha Morman; brother, Greg Morman; and son, Frederick A. Morman III. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Genie and John Faile; granddaughter, Samantha N. Faile; and daughter-in-law, Tina Morman. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Hospice of Chattanooga. Mr. Morman and his family were extremely grateful for the care and service provided by the nurses and caregivers with Hospice of Chattanooga. Graveside services will be held at Belmont Cemetery in Allensville, Ky., on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. CST.
