George Oliver Boaz, 86, of East Ridge, died Friday June 5, 2015 in Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.

George was born November 25, 1928 in Pittsylvania County Va. to David Thomas Boaz and Mary Elisabeth Ragsdale. On April 3, 1965 he married Barbara Jean Voliva in Engelhard, North Carolina. George was a bus mechanic, bus driver and carpenter, working at several churches in Michigan including John R Rice Baptist Academy, Flint MI, Faith Baptist Church and Schools, Davison MI, and Westside Bible Baptist Church , Flint MI George was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist church, Chattanooga TN. He was predeceased by a grandson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara, 6 Children, Tina Dorley and husband Richard of Tallasee, Al, Thomas Boaz of Flint, MI, William Boaz of Kalkaska, MI, Mary Thompson and husband Timothy of Burton, MI, Kevin Boaz of Flint, MI and Timothy Boaz and wife Autumn of Rossville GA. 14 Grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Calvary Independent Baptist Church, 4601 North Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37411 Wednesday, June 10 from 10 11 a.m. Pastor Ron Peterson will conduct the service at 11 in the church.

Interment will be in Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA on June 11, 2015 at 1 PM
