IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Imogene 'Gene'
Davis
June 2, 1931 – August 1, 2015
Imogene "Gene" C. Davis, 84 of Collegedale, peacefully went to sleep in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 1, 2015. Originally from Bushnell, Florida, Imogene resided in the Collegedale area since 1968 after she and her husband returned from serving with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in three Canadian provinces over the course of seven years. Gene was a woman of great integrity and led an exemplary, loving and caring life. She took pride in everything she did. Gene spent the majority of her career working at Siskin Steele Inc., then later working for Dr. Larry Calloway and McKee Foods Corporation. Gene was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed exercise and taught many step and aerobic classes for many years, even into her senior years. The most precious gift Gene possessed was her love of music, playing both the piano and organ. She shared this love with all of her children and grandchildren and spent countless hours of practice encouraging them to learn the piano and violin.
Imogene was preceded in death by her loving parents, Emmett Elijah and Lucy Arlina Cannon; brothers, Herschel, Ivey and Emory Cannon; sisters, Rosalie Johnson, Nell Smoke and Burdise Cannon. She is survived by her adoring husband of 64 years, Clifton L. Davis. Gene is survived by four children, Cathy Elaine Davis of Trenton GA, Keith Edwin Davis of Collegedale TN, Kimberly Janine Davis of Anniston AL and Camille Leigh Anderson of Ooltewah TN; "child number five" Wendy Blood; five grandchildren, Whitey Ryan Johnson (Walter) Mountain Home AFB Idaho, Jordan Christian Philips (Jennifer) Chattanooga TN, Cassidy Lynne, Bailey Madison and Alana Leigh Anderson all of Ooltewah TN and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to show their gratitude to those people who profoundly impacted Imogenes life throughout the years, including Mose, Garrison and Robert Siskin, Merv Pregulman, Sarah Bearden, Sue Smith, Rolando and Sabine DeLeon; the Calloway family and her beloved physician Dr. Glenn Newman and the many co-works and friends that enhanced her life here on earth.
A committal service will be conducted at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 2:30 pm.
