IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Isaiah Jacob
Pozas
December 19, 1999 – May 1, 2024
Isaiah Jacob Pozas passed tragically on May 1st, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN at the age of 24. Isaiah was born on December 19th, 1999, in Chicago, IL to Valente Pozas & Eva Corley- Pozas. Isaiah graduated from Ooltewah High School in 2018. As a young man, Isaiah was passionate about soccer and often watched a Barcelona game. During his High School career, he traveled to Spain with his older sister Aleyah. Isaiah loved being in the water and would be known to take full advantage of swimming whenever he could. Isaiah was enrolled at The National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC), and he was in his 4th-year pursuit of a 5-year Union Journeyman's Electrician Program for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Chapter 175. Isaiah was an accomplished and hard-working Electrician with a voracious appetite for learning. Isaiah would rise to every occasion, never turning down an opportunity to continue learning and perfecting his trade skills. When faced with difficulties on the job, Isaiah would often be heard saying the following: 'Hey, do you smell that?... Smells like a good day to make money...' While working, Isaiah would be found jamming out to his 'Dad Rock' of the 2000's and Rap. Over the last 4 years, Isaiah welcomed his two sons into his life and relished the opportunity to be a loving and dedicated father. Isaiah's children, Lukas and Kai, will forever remember him as a gentle, loving, and encouraging father. He spent all his available time and energy being present with his sons, playing, and nurturing them every chance he could. Whether pursuing a favored sport like playing soccer with Lukas or building forts in the living room, they always had a good time. He was passionate about kayaking and cooking. Often, Isaiah could be found in the kitchen. Isaiah was the experimental type, always exploring different flavors and textures, in the pursuit of creating the best burger, shrimp, or steak dish. Yet, he loved and often devoured his mother's traditional Puerto Rican cuisine and homemade salsa. Isaiah was as generous as he was kind. He was the type of individual who loved others and cared for whoever was in need. He always carried an encouraging word. Isaiah, a faithful man to God was uplifting, positive, strong, and consistent. While stoic and silent most of the time, Isaiah was also sharp-witted, having a quick sarcastic remark. His sister Aleyah would overhear and see him expressing his trademark wide-eyed bewilderment: 'What the heck!...' As a mixture of confusion and sarcasm to relieve any stressful situation. Isaiah was a shooting star, while his life was brief, it was also bright, and beautiful. Isaiah reflected his positive personality everywhere he went and enjoyed life to the fullest. He is missed dearly. Isaiah is survived by both his father, Valente Pozas (age 47) of Harrison, TN; as well as his mother Eva Pozas (age 54) of Athens, TN; his two sons, Lukas James Pozas (age 3.5) & Kai Karson Pozas (age 10 months); his older sisters, Aleyah and husband Steven Cooper, daughter Nailah Julianna Davis, and son Yazmir Cooper of Chattanooga, TN; as well as Jasmine and husband Kale Zimny of Franklin, WI. He is preceded in death by his older brother, David M. Perales, of Hickory Hills, IL. A celebration of life is scheduled on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at IBEW Local Union 175 Hall, 3922 Volunteer Drive, Chattanooga, TN, 37416.
