Jack West, 75, passed away, Monday, August 30, 2021, at his home in Dayton, TN. He was born in Rhea County on September 30, 1945, the son of the late Jackson John West & Dixie Collins West.

He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Eva West & brother-in-law Neil Ray.

Jack graduated from high school and then served his country for four years in the Army. Jack worked every aspect of the coal mining business for forty years.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Jorene 'Jo' West; son, Jackson Ray West; daughter, Dana (Steve) Gordon; granddaughters, Elaina West, Myla Gordon & great-granddaughter, Sophia Max McDonald; brothers, R.W. (Ruby) West of Cleveland, TN, Ronald West of Pikeville, TN; sisters, Doris Ray & Gail Kelly of Dayton, TN; several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Kelly Grove Church on highway 30, Dayton, TN from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pastor Steve William & Brother Chris Pugh will conduct a celebration of life service in the church at 3 p.m. A private graveside service will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens.
