James "Jim" E. Ervin, 66, of East Chattanooga, passed away, Sunday, December 31, 2023. He was a lifelong resident of East Chattanooga. He was a truck driver most of his life. He loved racing dirt tracks at Cleveland & Boyd Speedways with his brother and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ray & Lucille Ervin; wife, Sue Ervin; nephew Thomas Ervin, Jr.

Survivors include his brother, Tommy (Charla) Ervin, Sr.; sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Green; daughter, Janice Robinson; step-daughter, Tracie (Kenny) Kempka; step-sons, Mickey (Jenni) Dillard, Christopher Burnette; step-daughter, Janice (Johnny) Wert; grandsons, David & Jakob Robinson, Kenneth Bates, Mark Dillard; granddaughter, Jessica March; nieces & nephews, Roxie (Kent) Johnson, Ray (Dana) Layne; Robin Morgan, Scott Elliott, Shane Minor, Samantha Cotman, Steven Cook.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lake Hills Church of God, 4240 3rd Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37416. The Reverend Dwight Henderson will conduct the service in the church at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
