James Edward Kennedy, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. He was born in Georgia to the late, Calvin C. Kennedy & Nancy L. Sizemore, but had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Brainerd High School, Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1971. He served his country & was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force in the 1970s. He achieved many awards & medals during that time.

When returning from overseas he was hired by Tennessee Valley Authority to be trained as a Nuclear Power Operator for two years while Sequoyah Nuclear Power Plant was being constructed. He was an operator for several years. He enjoyed music & was a very talented guitar player in a local band before joining the Air Force. He loved spending time with his friends & family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughter, Sharee & (Stephen) Byer; 3 grandchildren, Braden, Sierra & Kennedy & numerous extended family & friends.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
