Jason Verne LaBar, 40, was born June 14, 1975 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to Gail Louisa Sharbaugh LaBar. He was the youngest of two children. Jason passed away unexpectedly at his apartment in Red Bank, Tennessee on August 7, 2015. Jason is survived by his mother, Gail Louisa LaBar, of Rossville, Georgia, and his older brother, John R. LaBar, of Tullahoma, Tennessee.
At an early age, Jasons family left the Pocono Mountains and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where Jason attended school at Ocean Springs Elementary and Vancleave Elementary and Middle School. In 1990, Jasons family moved to Chattanooga where Jason graduated from Ooltewah High School in 1994. Jason received a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he studied Philosophy for his senior year of high school.
Jason worked in the restaurant business as a manager at Steak Escape and as a driver for Pizza Hut.
Jason was an extremely creative person and enjoyed being the lead singer of the band, Drunk Man Dancing, as well as painting and writing.
The Rev. Jeff P. Crim will conduct a memorial service on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 5 p.m. (Eastern) Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 720 S. Germantown Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37412.
