Obituary

Jimmy Leon Proctor, 83, went to meet his Lord and Savior on March 25, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was born to Addie Jane and Homer Proctor in Ashport, Tennessee. His family moved to Compton, California where he graduated from Compton High School. During this time, he learned to play the guitar and became a talented musician. He had a love for music and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. He met his wife, Evelene Chadwick at a church social. They were married in 1957 and had five children. After working for several other companies over the years, he was hired at Northrup Grumman in 1973 and for 20 years was a dedicated, distinguished employee before retiring in 1993. After retiring, he moved to the south with his wife to be near family. Jimmy loved God, was a hardworking, honorable man who was devoted to his familys well-being. He touched the lives of many people, as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Joy Henry & Shirley Juber.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Evelene Chadwick Proctor; children, Loretta Proctor (Jim) Rapier, James Proctor, Timothy (Janie) Proctor, Jonathan Proctor, Wanda Lynn Proctor; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Jimmy is also survived by nephew, Lennie Davis; cousin, Wanda Proctor (Joe) Robbins; numerous extended family and several very good friends.

A service honoring Jimmys life will be held Tuesday, March 29th at Bethel Memorial Baptist Church in Lafayette, GA at 2:00 pm.
