JoAnn "Teddy" Coe, 82, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. Born on May 2, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Red and Lovie Pollard. A devoted wife to Roger Coe for 50 wonderful years, Teddy's love and laughter filled every room she entered.
A proud mother, she is survived by her five children-Randy Kite, Randall Kite, Leandra Barham, Karla Gooden, and Candy Hayes-each a reflection of her strength, humor, and devotion. Teddy's life was marked by her free spirit, fierce independence, and loyal, loving heart.
Her grandchildren, Dane, Lacey, Riley, Gemma, Nicholas, and great-grandchildren Thalia, Dakota, and Arbor, also survive her and brought her great joy.
She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Wortham, Dianne Legg, and Chalbert Potter, as well as her brother Joseph Pollard.
Known for her entrepreneurial energy, Teddy was an area businesswoman whose work and warmth touched many. She lived life with zest-dancing whenever she could, decorating joyfully for the holidays, and savoring her favorite ribs and chocolate. She was a "roadie" for Roger's band and a treasured member of several community organizations, including the NRA, AA, OA, and NA.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 6, at 1:00 p.m. in McInturff Cemetery, Birchwood, Tennessee.
Pall bearers escorting will be Randy and Dane Kite, Kyle Garza, and Riley, Scott and Christopher Brian Hayes.
