Joanne B. Smith, born October 24, 1955, passed peacefully on November 21, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Joanne affected the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Joanne is survived by her five children, fifteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought great joy to her life. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Hattie Mae Burks and Louise Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Georgia Burks, and her brother, Eddie Ross. Joanne was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed. Her legacy of love, compassion, and family devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. The memorial service will be held on December 13, 2025 at 1pm at New United Church, 2629 Tunnel Blvd Chattanooga, TN 37406 In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of the Greater Chattanooga .
