John David Acuff, A.K.A. "King Acuff", 85, of Chattanooga, died January 18, 2024 and is now in the presence of his Lord.

He was married to Norma Ellen Niswonger Acuff for 51 years. He was the father of five children, Barbara (Bob) Shaffer, David (Julie) Stremski, Steven (Angela) Acuff, Mark (Joy) Acuff, Cherie (Mike) Valovcin. He had ten grandchildren, Bryan (Vanessa) Shaffer, Breena (Seth) Shipman, Michelle (Robert) Walker, Angelica (Josh) Davis, Cody Acuff, Celsie (Bradley) Blevins, Cole Acuff, Zackary Valovcin, Luke Valovcin, Hannah Valovcin and twelve great-grandchildren.

He served in the United States Marine Corps, as a NATO Guard and a Boxer. He earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business from Covenant College. He was licensed as a Master Plumber, General Contractor and Utilities Contractor. He was a flooring installer. He owned and founded Trust Enterprises. He was an Author and a Substitute Teacher. He started a non-profit organization called, C.O.D.A., which provided a home for unwanted teenage girls in Georgia. He worked in Shelby County Corrections Center as a Counselor and Supervisor of Counselors. He was a Golden Gloves Champion in Italy. He loved Jesus & was a friend to all.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home church, Morris Hill Baptist Church, 1804 Morris Hill Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Pastor Bryan Shaffer will conduct a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Live to Serve Ministry at Morris Hill Baptist Church, 1804 Morris Hill Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
