John Robert Montgomery, 83, passed away on February 26, 2020 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Crossroads Baptist Church Ooltewah, Tennessee.

An additional Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Olive Baptist Church, Passmore Hall, Pensacola, Florida.

John was born in Moltrie, Georgia on July 28, 1936. He married Linda Sue Roberts on January 28, 1966 in Ringgold, Georgia. John and Lindas fifty-four years of marriage is a testament to his love of family. He worked for 25 years as a Sales Representative for Thomas Nelson Publishing in Nashville, Tennessee, where he traveled the Southeastern United States. In his later years, he served as Outreach Director at Crossroads Baptist Church in Ooltewah, Tennessee. He had a servants heart as seen by his countless number of hours dedicated to the Singles and Blended Family Ministries at Olive Baptist Church. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he served 6 years as a Morse Code Operator and a Czechoslovakian linguist.

John is survived by his loving wife Linda; their daughter Melanie Behrends and her family William, Dylan and Madison Behrends; and their son Daniel and wife Michelle Montgomery.

The Montgomery family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his friends and family who have shown never-ending support during this difficult time.
