John Thorndike Sargent, 93, of Chattanooga, TN, took the hand of Jesus, Monday, November 22, 2021. John was a long time member of Saint Thaddaeus Episcopal Church. John served his country in the Army National Guard. He retired from Chubb Life Insurance Company, where he was the Vice President of the data processing department.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Sargent; parents, Gustavus Foss Sargent, Jr. & Jean Muir Sargent; sister, Adele James.

Survivors include his sons, John T. Sargent II, David A. (Karen) Sargent; daughter, Pamela J. (Mel) Koontz; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Philbrook (Nancy) Sargent, many nieces & nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
