Jon Roger Hudson, 52, of Ooltewah, died on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Ellen and two children, Joshua, 17, and Sarah, 15, of Ooltewah. Jon grew up in Memphis and graduated from Briarcrest High School and University of Memphis. Jon is the son of Fletcher and Frances Hudson of Athens, Tennessee, (formerly Memphis). He was an active member of the Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison, and was an avid fisherman. He held many positions in the hotel business and served as the general manager of the Shallowford Road Hampton Inn for the last eight years. Loving family members surviving him are his sister, Kathy Hudson Zrike and her husband David and children Caroline, Abigail and Elizabeth; his brother, James Hudson and his wife Kelly and children Fletcher, Mary Kate, Craig and Stephanie; his brother-in law, Joseph Fischer and his mother-in-law, Hazel Fischer. He will be missed by them and his seven uncles and aunts and his 18 cousins. Memorials may be made in his honor to Bayside Baptist Church or a house of worship or charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison, on Friday, March 14, from 4-6 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m. Jon was a loving father, husband and son and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
