Joyce Marie Hobson Feher passed peacefully at home on Signal Mountain August 13, 2024 surrounded by family.
Born May 10,1935 at her home in Montrose, Michigan, Joyce met her high school sweetheart, Ray in the 2nd grade who would become her husband of 70 years. Joyce was an athlete, a musician playing clarinet and piano, an accomplished homecook and baker, and a life masters bridge player who taught countless women from Signal Mountain the game. She was awarded an honorary degree from Central Michigan University where she served for years as a beloved secretary. Her membership at Signal Crest United Methodist Church and involvement in the Interpreters class brought her great fulfillment.
Family was her greatest joy and accomplishment. She was a role model to her two younger sisters growing up. Later, she cheered on her three sons and seven grandchildren at countless sporting events, judged endless swim and dance numbers on her pool deck as performed by her granddaughters, kept a fridge full of snacks and sodas to graciously invite all who passed through her doors, loved to bake Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, and smiled joyfully through all the noise and mess of every family gathering. She was also the heart of Ray Feher & Associates where she ran the office of her husband and sons and played cards with her grandchildren.
She faced numerous health challenges, but her quiet spirit, perseverance with a smile on her face, and ability to always ask others how they were doing while never once complaining about her own circumstances taught us the most valuable lessons.
"Mimi's" legacy will carry on in the family traditions she made so special through her sons Butch and Jim and their families, her son Mike's family, her sister Carol, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. We rejoice in her heavenly reunion with her husband Ray and her son Mike. Her family and close friends will celebrate her life in a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chambliss Center for Children.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice of Cleveland, her wonderful nurses Danielle and Coco, and her loving sitter, Lisa Smith who all showed great compassion as they cared for her.
Arrangements entrusted to Crox Family Owned Covenant Funeral & Crematory.
