Lavelle Mallette Burnett, 94, passed away peacefully at Morning Pointe of Hixson on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. Lavelle was very active in her local school where she participated in various gymnastic, and sports teams. Lavelle was the Salutatorian of her high school class. After high school, she worked as a bookkeeper for several area companies. She married Charles Burnett after World War II and they lived in Greenville, MS. Lavelle was active with her local church & enjoyed bridge, gardening & dancing. Friends remember her as witty and fun to be around.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and grandson, Marc Murdock.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Cress, Gail Burnett; grandchildren, Lauren (Jeremy) Jeter, Rachel (Walker) Mathews, Hunter (Gina) Ashwood; five great-grandchildren. She loved being around her family and her grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service. No flowers are requested.
