Leroy William Chapman III, 70, of Rossville, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and achieved the rank of sergeant. After his military service, Leroy dedicated his career to carpentry, where his skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail left a lasting mark on countless structural units. Leroy was known for his strong work ethic, his love for woodworking, and his deep sense of patriotism. He was an avid firearms enthusiast and enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, collecting firearms, and sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts, especially his son, Roy. Leroy also had a profound appreciation for Native American crafts, often spending his free time creating intricate beadwork, traditional woodworking pieces, and intricate dream catchers. He had a passion for model cars, spending countless hours meticulously building and painting scale replicas. Leroy's home was always filled with the companionship of his four beloved dogs, who were an integral part of his life. He found great comfort in their loyalty and love, and he cherished the time spent with them. Leroy also had a natural talent for fixing things, and was always ready to lend a hand and enjoyed the challenge of making things work again. In 1998, Leroy married the love of his life, Paula Faye Chapman in Florida. Their marriage was a testament to their deep love and unwavering commitment to each other. He was predeceased by his wife, Paula Faye Chapman. Survivors include his son, Roy (Kaleigh) Chapman; daughter, Lynda (Robert) Robey; dogs, Daisy-Mae, Bertha, Sergeant Major and Bandit. Semper Fi, Leroy. Your dedication and service to our country will never be forgotten. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those you loved were an inspiration to all who knew you. The values you lived by; honor, courage, and commitment, will continue to guide and inspire. Your legacy of love, craftsmanship, and service will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone you touched. Rest in peace, brave Marine. You have fought the good fight, and now it is time for you to rest.
