Leslie Harter "Skip" Pearse, Jr. (11/6/1949 - 7/4/2014)
Skip Pearse, 64, of Jacksonville, FL, died peacefully Friday, July 4, 2014 in Chattanooga, TN surrounded by family and friends.
He was born November 6, 1949 in Waltham, MA and as a child traveled around the world with his family while his father was serving as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Army. Skip graduated from Springbrook High school in Silver Springs, MD in 1967. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga in 1972.
Skip worked for the Tennessee Department of Probation and Parole. He was a co-founder of the Boys Club High Adventure program. He was one of the original owners of the Sandbar Restaurant and Precision Display. He resided in Chattanooga, TN for more than 30 years before retiring to Jacksonville. FL. Skip was a proud Irish man as a great nephew of Patrick Pearse and a dedicated Washington Redskin fan.
Skip was preceded in death by his father, Colonel Leslie H. Pearse. He is survived by his mother Bette Pearse. His daughters Leslie Pearse Lyons (Maston), and Lindsey Pearse (daughters of Lee Ann Pearse), and Misa Pearse (Daughter of Hiromi Wigley). His sisters Linda Bruce (Robert), and Robin Stettler (Brian). His dear loved friend and partner Hiromi Wigley. His granddaughters Mckinley, Lindsey Kate, and Margaret Lyons. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who loved him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at St. Jude Catholic Church in Chattanooga, TN and will be followed by a funeral Mass and reception starting at 1:30 PM.
