Obituary

Lillian Starnes Campbell passed away peacefully at her home December 23, 2015 at the age of 92.

Lil was an active member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of the Johnson Sunday School Class and the Womens Ministry. She retired from Quaker Oats Company after 35 years of service. She was always an integral part of the lives of her grandchildren, Fred Jr and Andy. After retirement she and late husband, Arnold, pursued their lifelong dream of sailing on their boat, the Eureka 2, for three years along the East Coast. Upon Arnolds death, she focused her efforts on helping to raise her great grandchildren, teaching them to climb trees, throw a baseball, ride a bike and drive a car. In addition to raising her great grandchildren, she also spent many months caring for her late older sister, but most recently she enjoyed the regular fellowship of her sister, Louise, and brother, Buddy. Her greatest assets were her amazing amounts of energy and her love for angels which is representative of her deep faith in Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Riley Starnes; sister, Maudie Lee "Frances" Allen; her husband, James Arnold Campbell, and her daughter, Sandra Lee Campbell.

Lil is survived by her daughter, Diane Campbell Moore (Fred) and two grandsons, Fred Henry Moore, Jr (Allison) and Andrew Rebman Moore (Brooke); great grandchildren Henry OBrien Moore, William Campbell Moore, Robert Allen Moore and Isabella Brooke Moore; sister, Louise Kennedy; brother, Buddy Starnes

Visitation will be held at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 26 from 11am 1pm. Dr. Courtney Krueger will conduct the funeral at 1pm in the church.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

She and her family want share a special thank you to all the wonderful caregivers she had during the later months of her life. These ladies have been a significant part of her life and developed a special bond with each.
