Lucille Beckner, 87, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 17.

She was a retired teacher and mentor for deaf students for over 25 years at Tennessee Temple University. She was a member of Bayside Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, William C. Beckner; parents and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, David (Cristi) Beckner; daughter, Jane (Terry) Lee; grandson, Christopher Lee; brother, James Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 19 at Bayside Baptist Church from 4-6:30pm. Christopher Lee and The Rev. David Beckner will conduct the service in the church at 6:30pm. Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, April 23 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bayside Baptist Church Library or Silent Word Ministries, PO Box 889, Trenton, GA 30752.
