Luther Eugene "Pete" Poe, 95, passed away October 11, 2024 in a local hospital. He

was born in Hamilton County, TN, August 10, 1929 to the late Will K and Nora Poe. The

eight children in this family included three sons followed by five daughters. Pete was the second

child and as well as the second boy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Cleo Hamill Poe. Also,

three of his siblings died before him, one sister Geraldine Poe Boyd and both brothers, Edward Poe

and Donald Poe.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Poe Eldridge of St Petersburg, FL and his son, Michael

(Kaye) Poe of Chattanooga. Other survivors include his four sisters and several nieces

and nephews.

He was a long time member of Grace Episcopal Church where he and his wife regularly

volunteered to help in the church office after his retirement. He was also a member of the

East Lake Masonic Lodge, # 698 where he earned his 32nd degree.

A Committal Service will be held at the Grace Episcopal Church Memorial Garden on Sunday,

November 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM. This church is in Brainerd at the corner of Brainerd Road and

Belvoir Avenue.
