Lydia Jo Bothe-Meissner, 95, of Ooltewah, died peacefully Thursday evening, January 7, 2016.
Lydia was born to Tony and Esther Bothe in Dennison, Texas. Lydias father died of typhoid when she was 5 years old. Esther went to go to work while Lydia and her two siblings had to get along during the day. Lydia went to public school in Dennison, then attended Madison College in Madison, TN and became a registered nurse. While at college, Lydia met Oscar Meissner; after graduation, they were married in Sherman, Texas. The newly married couple moved to Georgia after Oscar completed dental school and his term of service in the US Army. Four children came to bless their family in Macon where she resided until 2010. Lydias greatest joys were centered around her family and children; she thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren in her later years. For the past four years Lydia resided at Morning Pointe Assisted Living Center in Ooltewah, TN.
Surviving are four children, Cherie, Craig, Tebbi and Estee.
Visitation will be at Wimbish Road Seventh-day Adventist Church in Macon, Georgia Sunday, January 10 at 1 p.m.
Pastor Jack Wines will conduct the service Sunday January 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the church.
Interment will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
