Marcia Frances
Nakken
March 29, 1925 – December 31, 2017
Marcia Frances Ward Nakken, 92, of San Francisco, CA died Sunday, December 31, 2017.
Among the adjectives used to describe Marcia: adorable, dear, sweet, precious, fantastic, buttercup, strong, bellissima (beautiful), cute, great, cutie pie, amazing, super, smart, wise, a True Christian woman, glowing with the Spirit...
Marcia was a much loved and appreciated, dear soul, who lived in grace and gratitude for nearly 93 years. A Christian example in the best sense of everything that Jesus taught and lived. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved children and worked as a Pediatric Registered Nurse for more than 30 years. Born in Michigan to Verne E. and Edwina S. (Faxon) Ward, she married Bemis (Bud) Nakken when she graduated with her RN and remained in Michigan, where she raised her family until the early 1980s, she and Bud then moved to Tucson, Arizona where they enjoyed the better weather and the natural wonders of the Western USA together for another 25 years. After spending a number of years in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, she spent her last years in California where she developed deep, loving friendships wherever she went.
Marcia is survived by her three children, Sherilyn, Ronald and Timothy, Tims wife Carolyn, her granddaughters, Ja-lene Nakken and Jenna Keith, Jennas husband Scott Keith and her much-loved great granddaughters, Alexandra and Katherine, (with Claire arriving any day now). Marcia will always be loved and remembered, by those who loved her, as the dear, kind, loving, forgiving, generous and eternally grateful person that she always was.
According with her final wishes, she will be laid to rest with her devoted husband, Bemis T. Nakken, at Chattanooga National Cemetery .
