Michael Arthur Kusnir, 68 of Cleveland TN, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of August 27, 2025, with his wife by his side. Mike had a lifelong passion for aviation and was proud to complete building his Glasair II plane. Though illness limited his time in the air, he was able to fly it a few hours- a dream realized that brought him joy and fulfillment. His quiet strength, love for family, and determination left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Toth) Kusnir; sister, Francine Kusnir. He is survived by his wife, Jean; step children, Carissa Byers, Lise Gustavsen and Tyler Gustavsen; grandchildren, LillaMai, Penn, Lucy and Milo; sister, Andrea and husband, Mark Angst; brother, Greg Kusnir; nieces and nephews, Michael, Mark, Melissa, John and Danielle. He will be deeply missed; forever loved and remembered. In keeping with Mike's spirit, instead of flowers, he would want friends and family to raise a glass - whether a beer or your favorite drink - and take time to enjoy life's moments. Military honors will be arranged in recognition of his service.
