Obituary

Michael Lee Peppers, 67, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2026, and went home to be with the Lord.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of East Ridge High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal for four years. After his military service, Mike began a long career with Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he dedicated 30 years of service before retiring.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Emory Duran Peppers and Marson Jackson.

He leaves behind his loving wife of over 40 years, Sandra Peppers; his daughter, Brittany Blakely (Tyler); and his beloved grandchildren, Kingston, Kinsley, and Kanton Blakely, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Gibbs (Kurt); nieces, Kebyn Angellilli (Kevin) and Kain Hicks (Cody); nephew, Luke Shirley; great-nephew, Adam Angellilli; and sister-in-law, Sharon Homer (Mike). He will also be lovingly remembered by extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched throughout the years.

Mike found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time at the lake, and being outdoors. Above all, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, creating cherished memories that his family will hold close to their hearts forever.

Mike’s passing leaves a space in the hearts of his family and friends that can never truly be filled. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought comfort, joy, and love to those fortunate enough to know him. The memories he made, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely will forever be treasured by those he leaves behind.

Though saying goodbye is never easy, his family finds comfort in knowing that Mike is no longer suffering and has been welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. While their hearts ache with the pain of losing him, they will carry him with them in every memory, every quiet moment, and every day that passes. His grandchildren will grow up hearing stories of their beloved Pawpaw, keeping his memory alive for generations to come.

Until the day they meet again in Heaven, Mike will forever remain a part of the hearts he touched. He may be gone from their sight, but he will never be gone from their hearts. His love will live on, his memory will never fade, and he will be missed more than words could ever express.
