Nina Lee Fitzgerald McArthur, 101, of Ooltewah, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014. She left her beloved Ooltewah home and has gone on an extended trip to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was reared in Ooltewah and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church as well as a member of The Order of Eastern Star. Nina retired from Container Corporation. Nina was known for her zany zest for life, her sharp and spirited tongue, her staunch beliefs, her sense of humor and love for the UT Vols. On her 99th birthday, dressed in orange, she rode around Hardee's on a Harley. Nina enjoyed her friends and strived to please the Lord. She was the daughter of late Elbert L. and Nina L Fitzgerald and was predeceased by her daughter, Pasty Hamilton of Chickamauga, GA and son Bud Fitzgerald of Oak Ridge, TN.
Survivors include her daughter, Bettye Clyde Thompson, of Flintstone, GA, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and all of her special friends from the Ooltewah Hardee's breakfast club.
The Rev. Will Conner will conduct the memorial service in Ooltewah United Methodist Church Saturday, August 16 at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orange Grove Center 615 Derby St, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
