Orlinda Virginia Pickett, 79, of Chattanooga TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at Collegedale Life Care. Orlinda grew up in Chattanooga and went to Tyner High School. She worked at Shaw Industries where she retired in 2004 to take care of her mother, which she did for thirteen years. Orlinda gave her life to the Lord during that time at New Haven Baptist Church, where she was baptized by Bro. Bill Broom. After her mom's passing, she moved to Silvertree Senior Apartments where she lived for 8 years and made many friends. Most recently she was moved to Collegedale Life Care where she was well taken care of. Thanks to the staff there and Hearth Hospice nurses for caring for her. A special thanks to Rob and Sherrie Stakely for their care of her also. Orlinda was preceded in death by her brother Myron, her dad Oran Dyer, and her mother Edna Dyer. She is survived by her brother Ron (Esther) Dyer, three children, Sheila Powell, Wesley Powell, and Angela Casteel, two grandchildren, and several nieces. There will be a Celebration of her life at a later date.
