Philip T. Krug, Sr., 85, of Chattanooga, TN passed away on June 9, 2015 at a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sue, and his parents B.E. & Hazel Krug; sister, Elizabeth Laskowski and his daughter, Karen E. Krug.
Survivors include his son, Philip T. (Chip), grandson, Ty (Christine) Krug; granddaughter, Catherine Krug; great-granddaughter, Clara Grace with several nieces and nephews.
Phil was a graduate of Notre Dame high-school and Austin Peay State University. While at Austin Peay, he met his wife, Sue Thompson of Clarksville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Far East. Phil spent many years in the transportation industry with Southern Railway and various truck lines and was the co-owner of a small trucking company.
He enjoyed volunteering at local charities and hospitals. Throughout his life he always put others ahead of himself. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Fr. Mike Nolan officiating. The family will receive friends at 9am on June 12th, with a Catholic mass to follow at 10am. St. Stephen's will provide a lunch reception after the mass.
Phil will be buried with full military honors at the National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution can be made to the Dave Aaron Scholarship Fund at Austin Peay, St. Stephen's Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
