Former State Representative and local TV newscaster, Ray White, 80, of Hixson, passed away Saturday, June 16. He served two terms in the Tennessee State Legislature. He also served in the United States Army Security Agency. He was a former TV newscaster at WDEF, Channel 12, as well as other TV stations around the country. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He was also a published author and former home builder.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Laurie; son, David & several cousins.

Father David Carter will conduct a funeral mass at The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
