Richard H. 'Dick' Phillips, Sr., 90, passed away November 28, 2014. He was a resident of Signal Mountain for sixty four years. Dick was a founding member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church where he served as Senior Warden, sang in the choir, and served as a Lay Eucharist Minister (LEM).
Dick was born in Mattoon, Illinois on July 8, 1924. He was the son of Ashby and Emma Phillips. He served in the Army Air Corp, WWII, 2nd Lt., piloting a B24, graduated from the University of Tennessee in Civil Engineering , and after graduation moved to Chattanooga. His professional career was spent in commercial construction, serving as AGC President in 1987.
Dick is preceded in death by his brother Ashby and sister Rosalie. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Jane, his son Richard H. Phillips, Jr. and his daughter Leigh P. Ward. Also his grandsons Ashby and Reed Ward and Riley and Owen Phillips who will miss FaFa very much.
Visitation and interment will be at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church Saturday, December 13 from 10-11 a.m. with the service following. , 630 Mississippi Ave., Signal Mountain.
