Robert Boysen Beckett, 90, of Collegedale, died Sunday, August 10, 2014. He taught high school science and math and worked in a variety of construction-related projects during his lifetime. For thirteen years he and his wife made a living as doll artists. Mr. Beckett was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Jean Kalebaugh, and his wife, June Lenore Allen Beckett. Survivors include his son, John A. Beckett of Collegedale; daughter Cyndi Merka, Burlington, WI; sister Betty Hill, Corvallis, OR; two grandsons; three great-grandsons, and a great-grand-daughter. Pastor Mickey Mallory will conduct the memorial service at 3pm Saturday, August 16, at the Standifer Gap Seventh-day Adventist Church, where Mr. Beckett was a member. Interment will be in Collegedale Memorial Park.
