Robert Leslie Yates, 86, of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 26th surrounded by his family. He was born on February 19, 1929.

Robert was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. He continually expressed love for his family and had a natural ability to bring joy to those around him. He worked hard, was quick with a joke, and had a contagious smile. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Frances M. Yates. (December 2012).

He is survived by son, Mark D. (Mary Staples) Yates; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Kloc, Mark II, and Timothy; son, Thomas (Susan McClendon) Yates; grandchildren, Amy, Kari, and Justin; great grandson Benjamin; sister, Marilyn (Larry) Toy of Nashville, TN.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday Dec. 27, at Granny Walker Cemetery with the Rev George Clark officiating. A special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga staff members Jennifer, Rebecca, and Lyle.
